As part of the UNDP 2014-15 SocialINNOV4Change project, Arts in Acton, a group from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad was in the federation from January 9-16, 2014. The group visited several schools in the federation during the course of their visit with the aim of addressing social ills via dramatic presentations.

The group plans made brief but meaningful presentations and involved students in using the arts to minimize issues such as crime and violence and health concerns which affect young people.

The Department of Youth Empowerment in St. Kitts contacted our office to organize two (2) mini-workshops for high school students on Nevis on January 16th, 2015. The Arts in Action group met with sixty (60) students from the Charlestown Secondary School, Gingerland Secondary school and the Nevis International Secondary School.  The students selected were interested in the arts and demonstrated leadership potential. It is their hope that following the mini-workshops, the students will be able to use the arts to promote positive messages to their peers.
