Youth Awards

In another effort to detour youth from social ills of crime and violence and other elicit activities, the Department’s Youth Division host a Youth Award Gala honouring not only youth but active Youth Groups in the community for their efforts in seeking to stem these occurrences. This programme was launched in 2014 during the Youth Month Celebration.

The 25 Most Remarkable Teens Programme.

This is a programme that was created by the Department of Youth Empowerment in St.Kitts and is a youth recognition program that promotes positive peer pressure within the youth community.  It was developed as a way for members of the community and Federal Parliamentarians to recognize and honour the efforts and accomplishments of youth ages 12 – 19 in non-traditional categories including youth activism, citizenship, courage to overcome adversity, entrepreneurship, leadership, community service and also including talents and skills such as design, performing arts, music and writing. The program was expanded to include youth living on Nevis in 2012.

Easter Camp

Every year during the Easter break, the Department engages in it's Easter Camp Campaign. This camp targets young persons from the ages of 5 - 16. Each year the programme takes a different focus which coincides with the theme for Youth Month beginning in April of every year. Children and young adults are separated into activities that speak to them more in an effort to grow their knowledge and competency. The programme acts as a fun and safe alternative during their school break.
